| What
does a Professional Organizer do? |
|
The
National Association of Professional Organizers
(NAPO) defines a Professional Organizer, as follows:
A professional organizer employs the principles
of organizing to enhance the lives of clients
through the design of systems and processes. A
professional organizer also educates the public
on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits.

|
What will a Professional Organizer do for me? |
| A Professional
Organizer takes an objective look at your organizing
challenge and can provide ideas, information, systems
and solutions to increase your productivity, relieve
your stress and frustrations, and restore order
and peace of mind into your life! |
| I'm
very private person. Will my session be kept confidential? |
| Your privacy
is very important to us and we value the trust that
our clients give us. We work with the highest level
of integrity and ethics and your privacy is paramount
to us! As a member of NAPO, we have signed a Code
of Ethics as a statement of the highest regard
we place on our client's privacy. |
| Why
should I get organized? |
|
When you walk
into your unorganized office or home...
What do
you see? What are you feeling?
If you feel
frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, out of control,
and hopeless, you are being affected negatively
by your disorganization. We live in a very busy
world and most of the clients I work with experience
these feelings of overwhelm and not knowing where
to begin; they are frustrated!
Organizing your
environment, whether it is your office or home,
can positively affect your outlook on life. Once
you organize your space, you can walk into your
office or home and feel in control, easily able
to find things, a savings in time, and a visual
view of order. The clutter is gone and is replaced
with order and peace of mind!
|
| Why
am I disorganized when everyone else seems to be
so organized? |
|
Firstly, it's
important to realistically look at how long you
have been challenged with disorganization and
the reasons for the disorganization. Have you
always struggled with organization? Have you recently
had a change in your lifestyle (job change, move,
marriage, baby, divorce, etc.)?
Most people
find that when they experience a lifestyle change,
their regular routine has been disrupted and they
may drop a few things...papers start piling up,
things aren't getting put away...and it seems
like suddenly everything has fallen apart! You
can get back on track!!
Some people
feel that they were born unorganized. I always
ask these people about whether or not they were
taught organizational skills. Often times they
realize that they were never taught these skills.
Organization can be learned; and it may take a
few adjustments in your behavior to keep organized,
however, there is hope!
